Public Computers and WiFi

Each White Oak Library District branch has a number of public computers available for use. Patrons can gain access to a computer by presenting a library card in good standing from any Illinois library. Color printing is available for $.40 per page and Black&White printing is $.25 per page.

Most public computers come equipped with screen reader technology, specifically NVDA (Non-Visual Desktop Access). Also the Lockport Branch has one computer with JAWS (Job Access With Speech).

Patrons visiting from places outside of Illinois can get a guest pass for 60 minutes of computer time per day by presenting a driver’s license or state ID. Signing of our Internet and Electronic Resources Policy is also required.

If you want information on computer classes, see our Computer Classes Page.

The White Oak Library District provides public access wireless Internet (Wi-Fi) service to serve the needs of our communities. This is an open, non-encrypted network. Our Wi-Fi SSID is: library

We offer remote printing from any device with an Internet connection. Access Remote Printing Here

Once a patron connects a personal electronic device to the Wi-Fi network, our Internet and Electronic Resources Policy will apply as though the connection were being achieved using a District-owned computer.
