Adult & Teen Services Librarian - Lockport Branch (part time)
The White Oak Library District, serving the communities of Crest Hill, Lockport, and Romeoville, Illinois is seeking an energetic, creative, and innovative Adult/Reference librarian to fill a part time position at our Lockport Branch Library. This position equals 25 hours per week.
The selected candidate will be expected to work within a team of peers to provide a diverse range of professional library services including planning and presenting library programs, collection development, staffing the reference desk, instructing patrons in the use of electronic and print resources, and a variety of related tasks. Position reports directly to the Adult & Teen Services Supervisor.
Minimum qualifications: Fully completed MLS from an ALA-accredited graduate program. Applicants should have computer experience, including Internet and the use of online databases, and ability to work days, evenings and weekends. Knowledge of the Polaris Database is a plus. Applicants will also be required to travel between our facilities as needed. Salary begins at $23.25 per hour and increases commensurate with performance.
The selected candidate will also undergo a 30 day probationary period, during which time they will be expected to demonstrate certain basic competencies that are considered a minimum requirement for carrying out the duties of this position.

Adult & Teen Services Supervisor - Crest Hill Branch (full time)
The White Oak Library District, serving the communities of Crest Hill, Lockport, and Romeoville, Illinois, is seeking an energetic, creative and innovative Supervisor for the Adult & Teen Services department at our Crest Hill Branch. This full time position equals 40 hours per week.
The selected candidate will oversee a staff of four to five employees who are expected to provide a diverse range of professional library services including planning and presenting library programs and events, collection development, staffing the Adult Services desk, instructing patrons in the use of electronic and print resources, and a variety of related tasks. Position reports directly to the Branch Manager. The selected candidate must work collaboratively with fellow supervisors and managers to achieve District goals.
The selected candidate will also undergo a 30 day probationary period, during which time they will be expected to demonstrate certain basic competencies that are considered a minimum requirement for carrying out the duties of this position.
Minimum qualifications: Must possess an MLS from an ALA-accredited graduate program, with a minimum of two years of relevant experience. Applicants should be computer savvy, and be fluent in the use of the Internet and online resources. Ability to work days, evenings and weekends is required. Knowledge of the Polaris Database is a plus. Applicant will also be required to travel between library facilities as needed. Salary starts at $55,640 per year and increases commensurate with performance.
